What is Fungal Fluorescence Stain(one-step method) ?
Fluorescent brightener is a kind of fluorescent dye. It has strong affinity with chitin and cellulose of fungal cell wall. Under ultraviolet light (wavelength: 340-380nm), it will emit bright blue fluorescence. Therefore, the morphology was observed by a fluorescence microscope to qualitatively detect the fungus.
Stain Results
The mycelia and spores of the fungus were all bright blue, and the structure was clear and distinct; other bacteria and tissues showed weak blue fluorescence and the background was blue-black. However, the diagnosis of fungal infection should be based on clinical experience.
